North Carolina man allegedly called 911 and admitted to fatally shooting his wife

GREENVILLE, N.C. (TCD) -- A 40-year-old man stands accused of fatally shooting his wife over the weekend.
According to a news release from the Greenville Police Department, officers responded to 4275 Williamsbrook Lane, Unit B, on Saturday, Jan. 8. Police say Demetrius Montra Cooper called 911 and said that he had shot and killed his wife, 44-year-old Amy Bland Roland.
At the scene, officers reportedly found Cooper outside the residence, but he did not comply with verbal commands. According to police, Cooper was tased before officers took him into custody.
Cooper was arrested and charged with murder. He remains held at the Pitt County Detention Center. Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
