Homicide investigation underway after woman is found dead in vacant Oregon lot

CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. (TCD) -- Officials have identified a female homicide victim whose body was found in a vacant lot last week.
On Monday, July 10, at around 11:45 a.m., a worker at a vacant property in the 26000 block of Southwest Stafford Road discovered a woman’s body and called the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office to perform a welfare check. Deputies responded to the lot, which was in the process of being sold, and found the victim.
According to KGW-TV, there is a house on the lot, but the woman’s body was located on the property and not inside the home.
Detectives and investigators also responded to the scene to gather evidence.
An autopsy determined the victim died of homicidal violence, but the Sheriff’s Office did not release further details about her cause of death.
Several days after the discovery, on Friday, July 14, officials identified the victim as 43-year-old Clarissa Hammon-Sweet of Salem.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
Detectives have asked anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
