Delaware child care worker accused of abusing 6 babies in her care

HARTLY, Del. (TCD) -- State police recently arrested a 24-year-old former child care worker on suspicion of physically abusing six infants late last year.
According to a news release from Delaware State Police, on Dec. 6, 2023, Hartly Learning Academy staff alerted officials of possible abuse to a child by a former employee, Kayla Manuszak. State police allege Manuszak had physically abused at least six infants under her care from Nov. 30, 2023, through Dec. 4, 2023. The victims were reportedly between 5 months old and 14 months old at the time and underwent medical evaluation and care.
State Police arrested Manuszak on Thursday, Feb. 8, on 21 counts of third-degree child abuse and 14 counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Manuszak was booked into the Delores J. Baylor Correctional Institution, and her bond was set at $119,000.
Detectives are working to identify any additional victims.
