CORONA, Calif. (TCD) -- Police arrested a 26-year-old woman this week who allegedly stole a work truck, rammed it into police vehicles, and fled into a Denny’s restaurant.
According to a news release from the La Habra Police Department, on Monday, Oct. 2, at around 8:11 p.m., officers were called to Imperial Highway and Idaho Street to a report of a stolen vehicle hitting a police car with an officer inside.
The suspect, Niqwayzh Green, led police on a chase throughout Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, KABC-TV reports. During the pursuit, she allegedly rammed into police cruisers, took out a fence, and drove on the wrong side of Highway 91.
Green reportedly abandoned the damaged truck and fled the scene on foot, dodging other passing vehicles. According to KABC, she ran across a parking lot, causing her wig to fall off.
Police followed her into a Denny’s, where she allegedly brandished a gun and caused a lengthy standoff.
A Denny’s employee told KABC, "There was only one guy in the restaurant and she ran in, flashed a gun, and ran out to the back. The cops came in right away after her."
Police apprehended Green at the Denny’s on charges of assault with a deadly weapon against officers, possession of stolen property, and evading a parole violation. Officials took her away in an ambulance.
Police said Green was on parole for burglary.
