GREELEY, Colo. (TCD) -- A 41-year-old mother was arrested last week after she allegedly stabbed her young son several times.
According to Greeley Police, on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 5:10 a.m., officers went to a residence on the 200 block of 9th Avenue for a stabbing report. When on their way, Greeley Police were reportedly informed a suspect fled the scene.
Police arrived and reportedly found Susan Lucero and her 10-year-old son both suffering from stab wounds, and they were transported to nearby hospitals. Though they reportedly each sustained "serious wounds," police said they are in stable condition.
Detectives reportedly learned the "unknown suspect" who allegedly fled actually did not exist. Greeley Police allege Lucero stabbed her son, then herself.
Greeley detectives obtained a warrant for Lucero’s arrest on charges of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, and felony menacing.
She was transported to Weld County Jail on Dec. 18 after leaving the hospital.
Weld County Jail records show she is being held without bail.
