PALM BAY, Fla. (TCD) -- A 29-year-old father was arrested over the weekend for allegedly shaking his infant daughter, who later died.
According to WKMG-TV, officers met with Hector Solis and fire personnel at Palm Bay City Hall after Solis had reported that his daughter was unresponsive.
Solis reportedly gave his daughter to first responders, and they performed lifesaving measures before bringing the child to the hospital. She succumbed to her injuries early Sunday morning, WKGM reports.
According to an affidavit obtained by WKMG, Solis said he shook his daughter because "she was crying for the longest time," and he "just got frustrated, and started shaking her."
The shaking reportedly did not occur at Palm Bay City Hall. Police did not disclose where the alleged crime took place.
According to records, Solis was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 20.
