California man arrested after allegedly masturbating in front of female ride share driver

SAN MATEO, Calif. (TCD) -- A man was arrested last week after allegedly exposing himself and masturbating in front of a 23-year-old female ride share driver.
According to a press release from the San Mateo Police Department, on Wednesday, April 13 at approximately 3:59 p.m., officers responded to a report of a ride share passenger exposing himself on the 300 block of N. Kingston Street.
At the scene, officers reportedly located the female victim. Police say she picked up the suspect, Edward Holmes, from the Bridgepointe Shopping Center around 3:45 p.m. They reportedly traveled northbound on Highway 101 as Holmes started talking about sex. According to police, the female victim told Holmes she did not want to discuss the topic, and Holmes allegedly exposed himself and began masturbating.
The victim reportedly noticed Holmes masturbating and exited off the highway. She told the passenger to leave, according to police. Holmes allegedly exited the victim's car after asking the victim if she wanted to see his genitalia one more time.
According to police, officers located Holmes nearby in the area of Dore Avenue and N. Bayshore Boulevard. He was reportedly arrested and upon further search, officers found a 5-inch concealed steak knife in Holmes' shorts pocket.
According to police, Holmes was booked into the San Mateo County Jail and charged with indecent exposure and carrying a concealed dirk or dagger.
