HARFORD COUNTY, Md. (TCD) -- A 26-year-old Papa John’s employee was arrested for allegedly stabbing a customer who complained about his order and then chased the worker around the store.
According to WMAR-TV, on Aug. 17 at 10:05 p.m., Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Papa John’s on Woodbridge Center Way for a report of a stabbing.
The incident reportedly occurred when 40-year-old Herbert Harris walked into Papa John’s to complain that his pizza did not come with garlic sauce and pepperoncinis, which he allegedly ordered. WNCN-TV, which cites a Harford County Sheriff’s Office report, alleges Harris went behind the counter and began assaulting the employee, Robert Klein, with a metal pizza paddle.
Herbert allegedly also chased Klein with the paddle around the establishment. WNCN reports the Sheriff’s Office said, "At that time, Klein, unable to escape the physical assault and in fear of his safety, grabbed a pizza spear to defend himself from the attack, and stabbed Harris in self-defense."
WBAL-TV reports Harris was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and Klein was arrested for second-degree assault.
