Officials identify homicide victim found near popular Alaska trail

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (TCD) -- Police have identified a 35-year-old homicide victim whose body was found near a popular trailhead last week.
According to the Anchorage Police Department, on Wednesday, May 31, at approximately 11:10 a.m., officers responded to the 7800 block of Campbell Airstrip Road after an individual walking in the area found a deceased man. Officers located the victim and called the Crime Scene Team to process the scene.
According to the Anchorage Daily News, Campbell Airstrip Road runs through Far North Bicentennial Park and is near multiple popular trailheads.
Police announced Friday, June 2, that the victim was positively identified as Juan Wright. The victim's death is being investigated as a homicide, but no arrests have been made. Police did not disclose Wright's cause of death.
Police have asked anyone with information regarding Wright's death to come forward.
