Calif. woman accused of attacking boyfriend with frying pan and her pit bull

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (TCD) -- A Kern County woman faces a slew of charges for allegedly attacking her boyfriend with a hammer and frying pan, then telling her dog to bite him.
Kern County Superior Court records show Angela Hagar is being charged with attempted murder, aggravated mayhem, torture, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm causing great bodily injury, and inflicting corporal injury on spouse/cohabitant.
Her bail was set at $1.66 million.
According to the warrant cited by KGET-TV, on April 6, Hagar allegedly attacked her live-in boyfriend with several instruments while he slept. The warrant alleges Hagar got on his back and started to choke the victim, who remained unnamed, with a rope. She then reportedly ordered her pit bull to bite the victim, and he suffered dog bites to his arm, face, and body.
After the rope, Hagar allegedly used a claw hammer to hit the victim’s body and face, then picked up the frying pan.
KGET reports the Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputy wrote in the warrant that the man's arm was so badly injured, "the bone was protruding through the skin."
Hagar pleaded not guilty to the charges.
