WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (TCD) -- A 57-year-old man allegedly killed his wife’s parents while she was out of town and recorded a video of the incident.
According to a news release from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday, July 2, shortly before 9 p.m., deputies responded to the 500 block of Cherry Road to a report of a death investigation. At the scene, authorities found the bodies of Gabriela Lagos’ parents, WPEC-TV reports.
Lagos’ father was reportedly found "laying on his back with severe blunt force trauma to his face" in the living room. Her mother was allegedly discovered in the back bedroom and was "positioned on the bed nude on her knees with severe blunt force trauma on her torso, arms and face."
According to WPEC, Lagos was out of town and her husband, Guillermo Silva, stayed home to look after her parents.
Authorities reportedly identified Silva as the suspect.
Lagos told WPEC that when she arrived home, her husband said, "Turn the camera on, turn the camera on, I want to show you something."
Lagos also said, "He recorded videos for me, to see my parents dead. I can’t believe it. He’s a monster, that he can do that to two older people."
Lagos’ eldest son allegedly arrived home "to drop money off for her parents" and discovered the bodies. Silva reportedly tried to attack the son with a knife, but the son fought back and held Silva down until authorities arrived on the scene.
According to WPEC, Silva was questioned and said he did not "recall killing" Lagos’ parents. He reportedly told deputies he had gotten into an argument with the victims after drinking all day.
Lagos’ adopted 11-year-old son was allegedly inside the home at the time of the killings but was unharmed.
The Sheriff’s Office said Silva was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on two counts of homicide and one count of aggressive assault with a deadly weapon.
