CHICAGO (TCD) -- A 76-year-old man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly sexually assaulted a teen girl who was at the beach with her family.
According to court documents cited by NBC Chicago, on Saturday, Aug. 13, a 14-year-old girl went to Montrose Beach for a picnic with her family. At one point, she reportedly walked towards a public restroom when prosecutors allege Juan Roldon convinced her to visit a nearby bird sanctuary with him.
NBC Chicago reports Roldon allegedly pushed the teen in the bushes where he groped her and forced her to perform oral sex. The teen reportedly escaped and ran back to her family and told her father about what happened.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports the teen's father found Roldon within five minutes and confronted him about the alleged assault. When Roldon denied it, the dad reportedly started punching him. According to NBC Chicago, the teen pointed at a napkin that Roldon reportedly used to wipe himself off, and that's when the girl's father started hitting Roldon.
He was arrested on charges of criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual abuse, and unlawful restraint.
Cook County Jail records show he is being held without bond.
