Minnesota man arrested after his wife's body is found along roadway

FORT RIPLEY, Minn. (TCD) -- A 47-year-old man is in custody after allegedly striking and killing his 49-year-old wife with a car last month.
On Sunday, June 25, at approximately 5:41 a.m., a passerby reported a possible dead body lying in the roadway off State Highway 371, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office said in a news release. Deputies responded to the scene and found a deceased female near the intersection of Killian Road and Legend Lane.
The next day, the Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Angela McClelland and determined she was fatally struck by a vehicle.
According to the Sheriff's Office, investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the State Patrol worked on the case for the past two weeks and identified the victim's husband, Tony McClelland, as the primary suspect. On Monday, July 10, deputies arrested McClelland on charges of second-degree murder and criminal vehicular homicide. He remains held in the Crow Wing County Jail.
