California father, stepmother accused of sexually abusing teen children for several years

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (TCD) -- A 34-year-old father and 30-year-old stepmother were arrested for allegedly sexually abusing two teen children for several years.
According to a press release from the Riverside Police Department, in November 2021, an investigation was launched "into alleged ongoing sexual abuse of a teenage daughter by her father." Upon further investigation, police learned of another sexual abuse. The victim's sibling was reportedly sexually abused by their stepmother.
The victims' father, Joshua Hawkins, was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on Nov. 23, 2021, police say. He was reportedly charged with lewd acts with a child under 14 with force, continuous sexual abuse of a child, child cruelty, and acting in concert, aiding or abetting in sexual assault with a victim under 14.
According to police, on Feb. 3, the victims' stepmother, Sabrina Hawkins, was arrested and also booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center. She reportedly faces multiple charges of aggravated sexual assault and lewd acts on a minor, child cruelty, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and acting in concert, aiding or abetting in sexual assault with a victim under 14.
According to police, the Hawkins parents remain held on $2 million bail, and the victims are reportedly safe in the care of family members.
According to KTLA-TV, the parents were involved in the Orangecrest community and school activities where they lived.
