Florida man accused of swinging machete toward employees after being told the bathroom was closed

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (TCD) -- A 64-year-old man was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 23, after reportedly threatening Pier 60 employees with a machete when he was told the bathrooms were unavailable to use.
According to WFLA-TV, an arrest affidavit reveals that Thomas Clement began shouting profanities at store workers after he was told the bathroom was closed. While seated in a wheelchair, Clement allegedly pulled out a 12-inch machete and proceeded to swing it toward employees in a threatening manner.
Clement was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. He was booked on a $250 bond, according to jail records. Documents obtained by WFLA reveal that alcohol may have played a role in the incident. Clement remains in custody awaiting trial.
