Homicide investigation underway after body found near Colorado train tracks

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (TCD) -- Officials have identified the body of a 31-year-old homicide victim who was found near railroad tracks this week.
According to a news release from the Fountain Police Department, on Sunday, April 9, at approximately 8:30 a.m., medical personnel and members of the Fountain Fire Department responded to the area of Alegre Circle and Highway 85/87 after a BNSF Railway employee found an unconscious man.
Medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Christian Cook, and his death has been ruled a homicide.
Police believe it was an isolated event, and the investigation is ongoing.
Officials with the department have asked for the public’s help in seeking information regarding the investigation. Any information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
Police did not specify how the victim died.
