Harmony Montgomery case: Father and stepmother of missing New Hampshire girl arrested

MANCHESTER, N.H. (TCD) -- The 31-year-old stepmother of a missing New Hampshire girl was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 5.
According to the Manchester Police Department, Kayla Montgomery was arrested on one charge of welfare fraud. Police say that between December 2019 and June 2021, she received over $1,500 in food stamp benefits "by failing to remove Harmony Montgomery from Kayla’s family account with NH DHHS Division of Family Assistance and continuing to collect food stamp benefits for Harmony, despite the fact that Harmony was no longer living with Kayla and Kayla’s husband, Adam Montgomery."
Ms. Montgomery was scheduled for her arraignment on Thursday, Jan. 6.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (TCD) -- The 31-year-old father of a missing 7-year-old girl was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 4.
According to a press release from the Manchester Police Department, Adam Montgomery was arrested on a felony second-degree assault charge from 2019 against his missing daughter, Harmony Montgomery, as well as one misdemeanor charge of interference with custody, and two misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say the search for Harmony continues, and they have asked the public's help in finding her. Harmony was last seen in October 2019 when she was 5 years old, though she was only reported missing recently. Manchester Police created a dedicated tip line for any information pertaining to Harmony's disappearance or her whereabouts.
Manchester Police Chief Allen Aldenburg said in a press conference Monday, "Help us find this little girl. Somebody out there knows something. It’s time to do the right thing. Someone needs to call in, do the right thing, and provide information to where Harmony might be."
Montgomery was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, Jan. 5.
