MUNCIE, Ind. (TCD) -- A 28-year-old man allegedly fatally stabbed his mother because "Ryan Seacrest told him to."
According to the Muncie Star Press, on Sunday, July 31, shortly after 9 a.m., 61-year-old Sondra Armstrong called 911 and told dispatchers that her son, Myron Armstrong, had stabbed her in their home on the 1000 block of North Burns Street. The victim was reportedly transported to a hospital via ambulance, where she was pronounced dead.
The victim's son was found walking away from his mother's home as responders arrived, WXIN-TV reports. He was reportedly taken into custody and questioned.
Myron Armstrong told police, "I stabbed my mom," and he also "stated that Ryan Seacrest told him to stab his mother," according to court documents obtained by WXIN. Armstrong reportedly said, "I am God," and that he was "dead inside."
Upon further investigation, police learned Armstrong used a knife from the kitchen and went to the bedroom to stab his mother, WXIN reports. He reportedly told authorities he was "relieved it was over."
Armstrong allegedly dropped the knife after stabbing his mother before walking outside.
Armstrong was arrested and booked into Delaware County Jail for murder, records show. He remains held without bond.
