HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (TCD) -- The remains of a missing 29-year-old woman who disappeared in April 2021 were identified over the weekend a former NFL player's girlfriend.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office officials reportedly confirmed to NBC News that the remains were those of Taylor Pomaski. Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland said, "The investigation is still open and active and homicide investigators are diligent on bringing this case to a close."
Pomaski was last seen April 25, 2021, when she attended a party on the 4500 block of Stallion Brooks Lane, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
About two weeks after announcing her disappearance, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office announced they transferred her case from missing persons to the homicide unit. Investigators said they believe Pomaski "disappeared under very suspicious circumstances and may be the victim of foul play."
In December, investigators found human remains in North Harris County that they believed were "related to the Pomaski case."
Pomaski’s ex-boyfriend Kevin Ware Jr. was arrested not long after she went missing and was booked into the Montgomery County Jail without bond, according to KTRK-TV. He was reportedly arrested in April 2021 after driving 115 mph. Deputies reportedly found drugs, a loaded AK-47, and a 9mm pistol in his car. He has not been formally charged in her case, but investigators reportedly believe he is a person of interest in her disappearance.
