Police ID remains found in Garfield Park Lagoon as missing Rockford boy, 2

CHICAGO -- (WGN) -- Authorities have provided an update about the remains found in the Garfield Park Lagoon in September.

Investigators say the remains belong to 2-year-old Kyrian Knox of Rockford. Knox was living with a family friend when he went missing on Sept. 5.

A toddler's foot was found floating in the lagoon. Additional searches located a head and other remains.

There have been no arrests in Knox's disappearance.

Knox's family was notified Wednesday morning.
