MMILWAUKEE (TCD) -- A missing 3-year-old boy whose mother was murdered was reportedly found dead in a dumpster Thursday.
The Milwaukee Police Department announced Oct. 21 they discovered Major Harris' body near North 35th Street and West Rohr Avenue, which was not within their initial "coordinated search area." The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner tweeted that the autopsy determined the boy’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head. His death was ruled a homicide.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, investigators located Harris' body in a bin in an alley on the 5300 block of North 35th Street. His mother Mallery Muenzenberger was found dead Oct. 14 with "obvious signs of trauma." She was reportedly buried in suspect Jaheem Clark’s mother’s backyard. Clark killed himself when Milwaukee Police went to a residence he was in on Oct. 17.
According to the Journal Sentinel, there were reportedly conflicting timelines as to when Harris was seen last. One report has his last known location at the address where Muenzenberger was found dead, but another says he was last seen traveling from La Crosse to Milwaukee.
WISN-TV reports police arrested several men in connection to Muenzenberger’s murder. Of the six they arrested, four were released. A 21-year-old and 29-year-old reportedly remain in custody. The Journal Sentinel reports the main suspect in her murder was an acquaintance, but the extent of their relationship remains unclear.
According to WDJT-TV, Muenzenberger’s family planned on burying Major and his mother together in La Crosse. Major’s father Carlton Harris is reportedly threatening legal action because he wants Major buried in Madison.
