BROOKLYN PARK, Md. (TCD) -- A group of suspects reportedly killed a 43-year-old father last week over a fight that began at a middle school.
According to a news release from the Anne Arundel County Police Department, on Friday, May 19, at approximately 5 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Arundel Road West to a report of an assault. Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel treated the victim, Christopher Wright, at the scene.
Wright was transported to a local trauma center for treatment, and on Saturday, May 20, he died from his wounds.
Police allege a group of suspects arrived at the victim’s home "in reference to an earlier altercation."
The victim’s fiancée told WBAL-TV that three teens and two adults arrived at their home looking for her 14-year-old son, who had gotten into a fight with another teen earlier in the day at school.
Wright reportedly tried to protect the child before he was assaulted. Three children were allegedly inside the home during the attack.
According to WBAL, security cameras in the neighborhood captured the alleged assault.
Officials with the 14-year-old son’s school reportedly confirmed the fight and are working with police on the investigation.
Anne Arundel County police spokesman Marc Limansky told WBAL, "Anyone who assisted, who abetted, or was an accomplice of the main suspect or the primary suspect will be culpable."
The investigation is ongoing, and police said they’re searching for three to four white males in their mid-20s to mid-30s in connection with the fatal attack.
