Texas man sentenced to 20 years for reportedly sexually assaulting his daughter over 11 years

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TCD) -- A 55-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years in prison after he reportedly sexually assaulted his daughter over a span of 11 years.
Wichita County Jail records show Roy McLeran’s sentence relates to charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of prohibited sexual conduct with an ancestor/descendant. According to KFDX/KJTL-TV, McLeran pleaded guilty to three of the five charges against him.
Wichita Falls Police announced Jan. 29, 2020, that detectives from their Juvenile Unit arrested McLeran for aggravated sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault, and two counts of prohibited sexual conduct.
KFDX/KJTL reports McLeran’s daughter alleged he first assaulted her when she was 11 and it continued until she was 22. One assault allegedly occurred when she was sleeping in her parents’ bed.
According to the Wichita Falls Times Record News, McLeran allegedly raped her in 2009 when she was home sick with pneumonia. In 2014, she reportedly woke up to McLeran sexually assaulting her when she was in bed on pain medication and dealing with a back injury.
McLeran reportedly admitted he sexually assaulted his daughter, but said she was not 11 when it began.
