LAS VEGAS (TCD) -- A 39-year-old man stands accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death during an argument and holding a witness hostage at the scene.
On Wednesday, Dec. 20, shortly before 8 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of an injured individual in the 3500 block of Mountain Valley Drive. Inside the home, officers found Brandon Tenorio’s unresponsive girlfriend suffering from severe trauma and apparent stab wounds. Medical personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Tenorio was also in the home when police arrived.
Further investigation revealed Tenorio and his girlfriend got into an argument, during which he allegedly "stabbed and struck the victim with a blunt object."
Police allege another person was inside the home during the attack, but Tenorio wouldn’t let the individual leave. The other person reportedly escaped the home and called for help.
Police arrested Tenorio and booked him into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of open murder involving a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, and kidnapping with a deadly weapon.
Police said the Clark County Coroner’s Office will positively identify the victim and determine her cause and manner of death.
