COLUMBUS, Ohio (TCD) -- Officials in several states are searching for a missing 5-month-old boy who was reportedly kidnapped with his twin from a restaurant parking lot this week.
According to the Columbus Police Department, on Dec. 19 at approximately 9:45 p.m., a woman called 911 from Donato’s Pizza to report her Honda Accord had been stolen with her two children inside. Officers arrived minutes later and learned a homeless woman, Nalah Jackson, was allegedly inside the pizzeria and left as soon as the mother walked in. Columbus Police then identified her as the main suspect in the case.
Police immediately began searching the area and issued an Amber Alert for Kyian and Kason Thomas at 1:15 a.m.
At around 5 a.m., Columbus Police learned Kyian had been left near the Dayton International Airport.
Jackson remains on the run and Kason is still missing.
Jackson reportedly has a criminal background and has previously been charged with child endangerment, and Deputy Chief Samuel Weir said he believes Kason is in danger.
On Dec. 21, Columbus Chief of Police Elaine Bryant pleaded with Jackson and urged her to bring Kason home.
Weir said at the most recent press conference there is a BOLO (be on the lookout) alert in the five states surrounding Ohio, including Michigan, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Indiana.
