MIAMI (TCD) -- A local police officer and a woman who is 7 months pregnant were arrested last week after they allegedly attacked a man they were both reportedly dating.
According to CBS Miami, the incident occurred Friday, May 26, at Miller's Ale House in Palmetto Bay when the two women reportedly went up to their boyfriend and called him out on his infidelity. They have been identified as 34-year-old Miami-Dade Police officer Anna Perez and 35-year-old Mila Zuloaga. NBC Miami reports Zuloaga is expecting a child with the boyfriend, who she lives with.
A police report cited by CBS Miami says Perez and Zuloaga "intentionally struck the victim on the face and upper body with their hands multiple times."
According to NBC Miami, the argument allegedly began as a "verbal dispute" about infidelity, which then turned into physical altercation. The man reportedly sustained a bruised lower lip and redness on his face.
Zuloaga and Perez were arrested on battery charges and later bonded out.
Miami-Dade Police Director Freddy Ramirez said in a statement, "I am disappointed by this officer's actions. We are held to a higher standard of conduct on and off duty. Although this officer was off duty, her behavior was unacceptable and it goes against the core values of our department. We will work closely with the State Attorney's Office and ensure a thorough and transparent investigation."
