Colorado mom accused of fatally stabbing her 2 children

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (TCD) -- A 37-year-old mother was arrested over the weekend after she allegedly stabbed her two children to death at their apartment complex.
On Dec. 30, Glenwood Police said officers responded to a call at 2:34 p.m. on the 100 block of Soccer Field Road and began an investigation into a "serious violent crime." According to a follow-up statement, Glenwood Police officers received a call about a stabbing in progress at a multi-unit apartment complex. Officers located two victims suffering from "significant injuries" and transported them to a nearby hospital. The two victims, who were 18 and 11, died from their injuries.
In addition to the victims, Glenwood Police saw an "uninvolved civilian" restraining a woman and told police the woman was "responsible for the assault."
The woman, later identified as Claudia Camacho-Duenas, was taken into custody without incident.
Glenwood Springs Police believe the altercation began in an apartment and continued into the parking lot. Police reportedly concluded there were no additional suspects and no threat to public safety.
According to the statement, Duenas is the victims' mother, and she was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police did not release the victims' names.
