MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (KARE) -- A Maple Grove woman is charged with shooting and killing her boyfriend after she says he assaulted her.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County Court, Stephanie Louise Clark, 29, is charged with second-degree murder with intent, not premeditated, in the death.
Police entered Clark's apartment Thursday night and found a man on the bedroom floor with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene, identified as Clark's boyfriend.
Police found five firearms in the apartment, according to the complaint.
Once in custody, Clark told officers that she had back pain from being assaulted by Butler. Officers found a bruise on her back. Clark told police that in a violent argument, she shot him several times in the chest and head. The complaint says that she told officers she "wanted him to stop talking."
