PROVIDENCE, R.I. (TCD) -- A 32-year-old man was caught after he allegedly broke into homes and stole sex toys that he intended to regift as a birthday present.
Court records show Benjamin Nadrowski is facing two counts of entry of building with felonious intent and two counts of attempted breaking and entering. The alleged incidents occurred between May 27 and June 3.
According to the police report cited by WPRI-TV, on June 2, Providence Police were called to a home on Power Street after a man called to report seeing a suspect outside his house attempting to get in through the bathroom window. The man reportedly confronted the suspect, believed to be Nadrowski, who drove away in a white Kia. The resident reportedly saw the same vehicle later that night on a nearby street.
Police reportedly caught Nadrowski sifting through a dumpster with a flashlight and asked him about the incident on Power Street. Nadrowski allegedly said he was "attempting to buy weed" but accidentally went to the wrong house.
Providence Police reportedly had similar breaking and entering incidents from that week. Nadrowski allegedly told police he went into a home May 27 and took a sex toy from someone’s bedroom on Armstrong Street. He then reportedly confessed to taking two others from a residence on Furnace Street. Later, he tried to take a makeup kit from someone’s home on Waterman Avenue but was caught and dropped it.
WPRI reports Nadrowski said he only took the sex toys because he wanted to gift them as a birthday present.
He posted bond June 6 and is due back in court in September.
