Texas man arrested after body found in burned building

LONGVIEW, Texas (TCD) -- Police arrested a 21-year-old man last week on suspicion of killing a 66-year-old man whose body was discovered in a burned building.
On Wednesday, June 7, at approximately 1:14 a.m., the Longview Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 100 block of East Avalon Avenue, according to the Longview Police Department. Firefighters extinguished the fire and found a victim, later identified as Ronnie Moody, deceased.
Police suspected foul play, and officials launched a homicide investigation.
The next day, on Thursday, June 8, police obtained an arrest warrant for Donald Ray Miller Jr. on charges of arson and murder, and he was booked into the Gregg County Jail. Miller remains held on $50,000 for the arson charge, and a $150,000 bond is recommended for the murder charge.
Police did not specify the suspect's relationship to Moody.
