N.C. woman accused of fatally running over her brother following argument

NEWTON, N.C. (TCD) -- A 20-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly fatally running over her brother following an argument outside a convenience store.
According to WBTV-TV, on Tuesday, July 5, Newton Police Department officers responded to the Love's Travel Plaza on Southfork Drive to a report of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. At the scene, authorities reportedly found a victim, 30-year-old David Land, who had been run over with a 2008 Ford Ranger pickup truck.
The victim and his sister, Sarah Prestwood, allegedly got into a verbal argument that turned physical, WHKY-TV reports. Then Prestwood reportedly ran over the victim with the truck.
According to WHKY, Land was transported to a hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.
Prestwood was arrested and booked into the Catawba County Detention Facility on a charge of murder, records show. She remains in jail without bond.
