Colorado grandfather arrested after juvenile drowns at park

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (TCD) -- Police arrested a 53-year-old man over the weekend following the drowning death of his grandson.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, on Saturday, Sept. 30, shortly after 3 p.m., officers responded to Memorial Park after people in the area found an unresponsive juvenile in the water. Citizens performed lifesaving measures on the child until medical personnel arrived. Medics transported the child to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Crimes Against Children Unit also responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Investigators arrested Joseph Camacho on a charge of criminal negligent child abuse resulting in death. Camacho's wife confirmed with KRDO-TV that the victim was their grandson.
Camacho was booked into the El Paso County Jail and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
