PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. (TCD) -- A 41-year-old woman from Burien was identified this week as the victim found in the trunk of a car in an auto yard in December.
On Jan. 3, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Patricia Soto and said her cause and manner of death were pending. According to the Seattle Times, the King’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Soto’s death as a homicide.
On Dec. 21, Sgt. Darren Moss said in a video on the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Twitter page that detectives found a body in a car during an investigation on the 21400 block of Meridian Avenue East in Graham. They did not have much information at the time because they needed a warrant to search the rest of the vehicle.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office posted information about Soto’s disappearance on Dec. 16, saying she was last seen on Nov. 7 at a residence in Burien. According to the statement, Soto frequented the areas of Granite Falls, Everett, and Des Moines. Family members grew concerned because they had not heard from her in several days.
The investigation remains ongoing.
