HOOKSETT, N.H. (TCD) -- A 40-year-old woman was arrested Monday after police say she stole a bottle of wine from a supermarket and attacked a store employee with it.
The Hooksett Police Department said in a statement that on August 2 at around 3 p.m., officers were dispatched to Market Basket on Market Drive about a fight between a male and a female.
When police arrived, officers reportedly spoke with Market Basket employees and learned Stephanie MacDonald allegedly walked out of the store without paying for a bottle of wine.
A Market Basket employee reportedly confronted MacDonald about not paying for the wine, Hooksett Police said. MacDonald then allegedly hit the employee with the bottle, and the two got into an altercation.
MacDonald, who lives in Somersworth, New Hampshire, reportedly admitted to taking the wine. According to Hooksett Police, MacDonald was charged with robbery; willful concealment; obstructing government administration; assault; and criminal threatening.
Stephanie MacDonald was booked into the Merrimack County House of Corrections.
According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, in 2019, MacDonald allegedly ate a buffet meal and drank alcohol at Dynasty Restaurant but walked out before paying for her meal.
