Tennessee man accused of killing pregnant fiancée arrested in Louisiana

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (TCD) -- A man accused of killing his 23-year-old pregnant fiancée was found in Louisiana and taken into custody.
According to Cookeville Police, on Friday, Feb. 6, at approximately 4 p.m., officers conducted a welfare check at an apartment on West 12th Street. They arrived and discovered Lyndzy Bounds unresponsive. She was declared dead at the scene.
Cookeville Police Department detectives began a homicide investigation into her death and identified her fiancé Christian Luna as a suspect. They issued a warrant for his arrest on first-degree murder. He was located in Carencro, Louisiana, and booked in Lafayette Parish Jail while he awaits extradition back to Tennessee.
WKRN-TV reports Bounds was fatally shot. Bounds and Luna had reportedly been in a relationship since June 2021, and her sister told WKRN Bounds was "so excited to become a mom." According to her obituary, Bounds worked as a home health direct support professional. It was not immediately known how far along she was in her pregnancy.
