FORT MYERS, Fla. -- (WBBH) -- A Fort Myers man is guilty of kidnapping a 14-year-old girl and sexually assaulting her in his RV for seven weeks.
Daniel Thomas was convicted Thursday of false imprisonment of a minor after he kept the teen in his mobile home that he drove back and forth between Lee and Collier Counties in attempts of keeping her location unknown. Whenever people would come in or near the RV, Thomas, previously a family friend, would have the girl hide in cupboards.
A pastor eventually found the girl and Thomas tried fleeing to Michigan before being arrested in Lee County.
Thomas faces up to 40 years in prison.
