Food Network host's accused killer could face death penalty

A North Carolina district attorney is seeking the death penalty for the man accused of murdering Food Network host Cristie Schoen Codd and her husband.
Robert Jason Owens has been charged with murder in the deaths of Joseph "J.T." Codd, Cristie Schoen Codd and the couple's unborn child. Owens is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, plus two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of dismembering human remains, and murder of an unborn child.
The couple's remains were found in a wood stove on Owens' property days after they were reported missing in March.
Owens was a contractor hired to work on the couple's home in Leicester, N.C. Owens was a neighbor and even attended the couple's wedding.
- Owens is also suspected in the disappearance of an 18-year-old man who went missing in 2000.
