SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. -- (WPIX) -- Two Long Island day care center workers are accused of physically abusing infants and toddlers in their care by allegedly force feeding the children, pushing them and slamming them on the floor.
During an on-site visit Sept. 28, detectives handcuffed teachers Kathleen Culver, 33, and Sarah M. Dawber, 23. The pair worked in the infant room tending to children ranging from 4 months old to 18 months old at the Side By Side Day Care, located at 502 North Sea Road in Southampton, police said.
An 18-month-old child vomited from forced feeding, allegedly at the hands of their teacher, police said. No other injuries have been reported.
