Karl Karlsen has faced more tragedies than any man should ever endure -- so many that investigators now wonder if these horrible events aren't something else entirely.
Karl Karlsen might be the most unlucky man in the world.
He loses his wife in a horrific house fire. His son is crushed under a truck. His prized horses die in a barn blaze. Even his car blows up in flames.
It seems to police that Karl Karlsen's bad luck is always followed up with a check from an insurance company. He received $200,000 when his first wife was killed in the fire; $700,000 when his son died; $115,000 on the barn fire that killed his horses; and $10,000 for a new car that blew up -- for a grand total of more than a million bucks.
