Man pleads guilty to throwing infant son against a wall

Livingston County, N.Y. -- (WHAM) -- The Springwater man accused of assaulting his 22-week-old son has pleaded guilty to First Degree Assault, according to the Livingston County District Attorney's Office.
Matthew Sackett was charged with throwing the infant against a wall in his apartment, causing multiple skull fractures and broken ribs.
According to the D.A.'s office, Sackett will be sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by five years parole as part of the plea.Sackett also waived his right to appeal.
Officials say the baby, now 9-months-old, is doing much better and the outlook for a full recovery is positive.
Sackett has been in jail since his arrest back in February.
